This past Thursday, students from the SFAI community gathered in the lecture hall for a Town Hall meeting with Rachel Schreiber and members of the Board of Trustees. This meeting gave a chance for students to bring up issues directly to the upper administration and trustees, an opportunity that has increasingly become necessary due to recent uncertainty on campus over budget cuts and leadership changes that are directly affecting student experience. Despite only lasting an hour, many students were given the opportunity to speak with Rachel and the board members during and after the meeting to voice their concerns. Major issues covered were the president search, class cuts, enrollment/retention, studio space, and transparency from the administration.
SFAEYE recorded this meeting for members of the community who could not attend. Notes will be distributed to all students officially through SFAI in the coming days.
